Leading the pack in performance athletics management

Kinduct Technologies (Kinduct) of Halifax, Nova Scotia, was founded in 2010 with a primary focus on patient care in rehabilitation, which evolved into the human performance and elite sports environment. After developing a proprietary data management platform to track fitness and athletic performance, the company turned to the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) for help with machine learning and artificial intelligence. That initial support allowed the firm to tap into expertise at Acadia's Institute for Data Analytics, hire their first of many data scientists, and develop a machine learning predictive analytics system. This assistance evolved into further research and development projects with NRC IRAP, which enabled Kinduct to bring their platform to the next level by incorporating new functionalities and scalability.

With support from NRC IRAP, including strategic advisory services and guidance from NRC IRAP industrial technology advisor Susan MacLean Michel, Kinduct was not only able to enhance their technology, but also significantly scale up their data security, privacy and product functionality.

Today, Kinduct's Athlete Management System has grown to serve many high-profile clients, companies and organizations including the Canadian Olympic Foundation and over 550 professional and elite sports teams. The company has attracted significant investment interest from Canada and the U.S., and in September 2020, Kinduct was acquired by mCube Inc.—a motion sensor technology leader.

As part of mCube (now rebranded as Movella™), Kinduct continues to evolve their platform. Shortly following the release of their refreshed mobile application, the firm partnered with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology to become the preferred remote programming and monitoring solution for the Society's membership of over 5,000 professionals.
