The National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) has launched a programming stream designed to help high-potential, innovative Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) advance made-in-Canada defence and dual-use technologies.
NRC IRAP's Defence Industry Assist (DI Assist) strengthens Canada's defence industrial base. It provides advice and funding to SMEs investing in research and development of technologies that address the capability needs of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
Through DI Assist, NRC IRAP's network of industrial technology advisors (ITA) across Canada are enabling SMEs to be key contributors to national defence. They support companies in developing innovative products that meet CAF priorities and help grow Canada's economy.
