Mining wear and corrosion test facility

Which factors contribute to mining equipment wear and what is their influence? How can equipment owners and operators maintain their performance capabilities for longer periods of time?

At the NRC’s mining wear and corrosion test facility, our experts collaborate with you to answer those questions, along with an abundance of other equipment challenges faced by the mining industry.

Our services

  • ASTM standard wear tests
  • Non-standard wear tests using custom-built equipment, including: erosion, erosion-corrosion, abrasion-corrosion, impeller-in-drum impact abrasion, high-stress, high-temperature abrasion tests and comprehensive characterization of elastomers for wear applications
