In view of the difficulties Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) are facing during this uncertain time, the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program's (NRC IRAP) International team is committed to continuing to provide international business advisory services and funding support to innovative Canadian SMEs through its regular processes.
Given the rapidly evolving global situation, NRC IRAP International will continue coordinating closely with its national and international partners, and other government departments, and reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel planned or anticipated international activities where required.

EUREKA has launched a multilateral call for proposals for joint research and development (R&D) projects on advanced materials. Participating countries include Austria, Belgium (Flanders, Wallonia), Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Malta, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
Open to:
- small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
- large enterprises and industries
- universities
- research organizations
- others
Only eligible Canadian SMEs can receive funding through NRC IRAP. All other Canadian participants must secure funding from other sources or be self-funded.
Sectors of focus:
- Advanced materials projects focussed on the following technologies/industries:
- Carbon industry and chemistry, including lightweight materials, composites and recycle of plastics as well as nanomaterials and plastic materials
- Machinery, robots, and metal industry
- Secondary batteries and sensor technology (including energy storage)
- Semiconductors and display
Deadline for submitting the international consortium project proposal: June 30, 2020 (CET 18:00)
