Biography: Michael Curry

Michael Curry

Director General,
NRC IRAP Ontario

Michael Curry is the Director General for the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) Ontario region. He joined the NRC in 2008.

Before becoming Director General for NRC IRAP Ontario region, Michael served as both a regional Director and an Industrial Technology Advisor (ITA) with IRAP, working with small and medium-sized entreprises (SMEs) across the innovation spectrum.

Prior to joining IRAP, Michael held management positions at Johnson Controls, as a Technical Manager and Technical Processing Manager, proceeded by various Engineering positions. Michael's early career in engineering was spent at Fishercast and TriMag Magnesium Die Casting and Machining.

He is active in Scouts Canada and is an avid outdoorsman and camper.

A professional engineer, Michael holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Lakehead University and is a Six Sigma Greenbelt.
