Printable Electronics Materials Thrust Leader - Project leader for materials thrust in NRC's Printable Electronics Program. Leading team of 15 scientists developing new materials & inks for printable electronics applications. Leading projects focused on SWNT purification/enrichment, printable field effect transistor materials and conductive inks for 2D/3D printing and sensors.

Research and/or project statements

  • High purity semiconducting single wall carbon nanotubes (sc-SWNT) for sensors and logic elements. Enabling roll to roll printing for large area displays and next generation high performance electronics.

  • Conductive inks for 2D/3D printing. Fabrication of stretchable, formable objects for in-mold electronics and 3D printed smart objects.

  • Co-inventor of a process for semiconducting SWCNT enrichment that was licensed and commercialized by Raymor/NanoIntegris.  The commercial product (IsoSol-S100) was awaded the best new materials development award at IDTechEx – PE USA (2014)

  • NRC Eminent Researcher Award Recipient (2010-2011)

Inventions and patents

15 granted and 25 pending patents encompassing nanomaterials for energy, healthcare and electronics. Active licenses for conductive inks and high purity semiconducting SWCNT.
