Roles and responsibilities
Team Leader at Aerosol & Gas Metrology. Our team works on measuring and understanding climate- and energy-relevant nanoparticles and gases.
Research topics include climate-warming aerosols (e.g. soot), fundamental aerosol physics, gas sensing, PPE, and novel calibration systems.
Current research and/or projects
Ongoing work includes the development and application of calibration and measurement techniques for non-volatile particulate matter (PM), including black carbon, combustion emissions (road, aircraft, marine), and synthetic nanoparticles such as graphene.
Specific research topics: aerosol science, airborne nanoparticles, soot. mass spectrometry, nanoparticle optics.
Example applications: air pollution, climate science, renewable fuels, nanotech, instrument development.
