Calibration services:

  • DC resistance from 10 µΩ to 100 TΩ;
  • DC voltage from 100 µV to 1 kV;
  • AC voltage (AC-DC difference) from 0.002 V to 1000 V and 10 Hz to 1 MHzFootnote *;
  • AC current (AC-DC difference) from 2 mA to 100 A and 10 Hz to 100 kHzFootnote *;
  • AC capacitance from 10 pF to 10 µF and from 10 Hz to 4 kHz;
  • AC resistance from 10 Ω to 10 MΩ and from 10 Hz to 4 kHz;
  • AC inductance from 100 µH to 10 H and from 10 Hz to 4 kHz;
  • RF voltage (AC-DC difference) from 0.2 V to 24 V and from 0.1 MHz to 100 MHzFootnote *;

A number of other measurements can be performed by special arrangement.

Client calibrations are only scheduled in April, May, June, October, November, and December. Calibrations may begin in other months, but only by special arrangement. To assure minimum delays, please contact us before sending calibration equipment to the NRC. Measurements are normally performed in oil at 25 °C, in air at 23 °C, or at room temperature, typically 20 °C to 23 °C. Please specify required conditions when ordering.

Note that fees for calibration services are subject to change. The fees for service quoted do not include shipping, insurance or the cost of a customs broker. The client must arrange and pay for these services separately.

A33-02-04-06 Resistance of a metal rod conductivity standard. The resistance of a metal rod conductivity standard is measured. The measurement is performed only at room temperature. The rod length must not exceed 980 mm and the rod diameter must not exceed 23 mm. $2,530

Capacitance measurements

A33-02-06-12 Determination of dissipation factor of a capacitor. This service provides the dissipation factor when performed at the same time and under the same conditions as A33-02-06-10 or A33-02-06-11. $265

Capacitance is normally measured at a specified temperature in the range 20 °C to 25 °C, peak voltage amplitude in the range 0.1 V to 10 V, at frequencies of 1000 Hz or 1592 Hz. (Frequency in the range 10 Hz to 4000 Hz upon request. Dissipation factor can be provided upon request. Values greater than 10 µF may be provided after consultation.)

AC Resistance measurements

A33-02-06-20 AC Resistor. The impedance of an AC resistance from 10 Ω to 10 MΩ is measured with a digital bridge at one frequency. Real component (or modulus) and imaginary component (or argument or time constant) are provided. $1,950

The impedance of the AC resistor is normally measured at a specified temperature in the range 20 °C to 25 °C, maximum peak voltage amplitude in the range 0.1 V to 10 V, at a frequency of 1000 Hz. (Frequency in the range 10 Hz to 4000 Hz upon request.)

Inductors with non-magnetic cores are normally measured at a specified temperature in the range 20 °C to 25 °C, peak voltage amplitude in the range 0.1 V to 10 V, at a frequency of 1000 Hz. (Upon request, frequency in the range 10 Hz to 4000 Hz. Dissipation factor can be provided upon request.)

AC-DC transfer and AC Voltmeter

A33-02-07-06 AC voltmeter. The AC voltage error of an AC voltmeter is determined at one voltage between 0.002 V and 700 V and at one frequency between 10 Hz and 1 MHz using a calibrated thermal transfer standard and digital voltmeter. Not all combinations of frequency and voltage are available. $1,490

Thermal transfer standards and thermal converters can be calibrated between 0.002 V and 1000 V at frequencies between 10 Hz and 1 MHz. Not all combinations of frequency and voltage are available. Alternating current four-terminal shunts normally used with the thermal devices described above may be calibrated up to 90 A and 100 kHz.

RF impedance
