Get a CLAS Certificate - 2. Fees

The NRC is discontinuing the Calibration Laboratory Assessment Service (NRC CLAS) and is assisting clients that are accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) to move their assessments fully to the SCC.

Effective April 30, 2026, SCC will take full responsibility for the assessment and the accreditation for these laboratories to ISO/IEC 17025.

If you want to learn more about accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 for calibration and testing laboratories in Canada, contact:

For information about the NRC Metrology Research Centre, contact: Kevin Thomson, Director of Research and Development, kevin.thomson@nrc-cnrc.gc.ca.

To obtain accreditation and a CLAS Certificate, organizations have two accreditation bodies to choose from: the Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation (CALA) and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).
